Santa Claus visits Reynoldsville for food drive

VFD hosts event to help those in need

REYNOLDSVILLE, W.Va. -

Santa made a special visit  around Reynoldsville on Saturday as part of the third annual Santa Claus food drive.

The food drive, put on by the Reynoldsville Volunteer Fire Department, helps support local families in need.

Santa rides six miles during the first two Saturdays of December greeting children and handing out treats.

The hope is that people who are able will donate food and show their support.

"Everything that we collect goes to the Wilsonburg Grade School," said Fire Captain Karen McNemar. "It's for the backpack program, and they help needy families that need more help. We just want everybody to come out and support us."

The next event is Saturday, December 9th. It will begin at 9:30a.m. and will start on Fire Excess, Sun Valley and Davisson Run Road to Rt. 19.
