Jason Anderson and Jennifer Meachum are both still in jail.

FAIRMONT --  Sheriff's deputies said Jason Anderson and Jennifer Meacham's baby's skin was so raw, it was bleeding.

Anderson was in Marion County Magistrate Court Friday to face charges of child neglect with serious bodily injury in his 11-week-old baby's death. Deputies testified that the baby was sleeping on a urine-soaked eggshell foam.

Deputies have also alleged that the child was underfed and had sores on his body. The magistrate sent Anderson's case to the grand jury and set his bond at $100,000 cash.

Meacham waived her preliminary hearing.

Prosecutors say the investigation is ongoing and both parents could face additional and more severe charges.

Anderson and Meachum each face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

They are both being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
