The Home Improvement Network vows to find credible contractors for consumers for free.
By Sarah Kapis
BRIDGEPORT -- There are nearly 200 different kinds of home improvement companies and contractors out there.
Unfortunately some of them make their money with dishonest practices.
Rick Quinn, a former contractor, recently founded The Home Improvement Network. It's a new spin on picking the perfect contractor who will leave, only when the job is done. The way it works is: Quinn seeks out companies and contractors across North Central West Virginia.
His job is to weed out the good from the bad and then help promote them to consumers on his Web site. "There's an application process we check them out to make sure they are licensed and they are insured in their fields," said Quinn.
Quinn constantly checks up on the members to make sure they're fulfilling their duties.
Residents can also check up on their own contractors for free by visiting the Home Improvement Network.
"Consumers can rest easy knowing that our company will take care of them," he said.
The members that join the Home Improvement Network pay a fee to be a part of the group. Quinn says he is still accepting applications for new members.
