Charles Metz is sentenced to 10 years home confinement for killing David McClain.
By Elizabeth Schubert
Last week, Charles Metz pleaded "no contest" to voluntary manslaughter in the October, 2003, murder of a 34-year-old Clarksburg man. Metz was back in a Lewis County courtroom Monday.
Last Tuesday, Metz signed a plea agreement regarding the murder of David McClain. Lewis County Judge Thomas Keadle sentenced Metz to 10 years in home confinement. Before that sentencing took place, the victim's mother, Donna McClain asked to speak on behalf of her son.
She read a prepared statement. In it, she described the pain and suffering she says Metz put her family through. As she addressed him, she also made a request, asking repeatedly for Metz to reveal the location of her son's remains.
" When they found David, they found partial remains, his skull," McClain said. "We don't have any other remains, and only Mr. Metz knows the answer to that question."
