MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Students involved in the production of 'The Legend of the Sleepy Hollow' at West Virginia University are getting ready for the second play of the season.
When 'Sleepy Hollow' debuts at the Creative Arts Center, you'll get to see the actors perform.
But there’s more than play rehearsal going on right now.
Sanding, painting, and sewing are all behind the scene sounds here in West Virginia University's Division of Theatre and Dance.
Theatre students have been preparing for the upcoming play “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” set to open on October 22nd.
Sophomore Costume Design major Elizabeth Porter dabbled in other crafts before choosing costuming.
"I actually took lighting last semester and I loved it, but it wasn't for me at all,” she said. “I'm not good at the technical stuff. I'd rather do the designing. I think I have more creativity for it."
On the other hand, junior Joey Famiglietti would rather be getting his hands dirty.
"I'm not really into costuming, so I just think it's more fun to build and paint and stuff like that."
The carpenters, costumers and electricians will be here during the day, working until dress rehearsals start in a couple of weeks. Then the stage hands and dressers will pitch inputting on the final touches before opening night.
These students work long and hard, but receive ample credit - and credit hours - for their hard work.
