Kyle Sherman is this year's winner.
Story by Chris Marrs
MORGANTOWN -- Scraggly beards and poorly shaven faces took center stage at West Virginia University's Mountainlair, Wednesday afternoon, as part of "Mountaineer Week's" beard-growing contest.
Twenty-nine non-razor using contestants showed off four weeks' worth of follicle growth.
This year's Grizzly Adams award went to junior Kyle Sherman, who says joining the contest was an easy decision.
Mountaineer Mascot and Mister "I haven't shaved for two years" Michael Squires emceed the event.
Sherman took home a $100 first prize.
