ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio -- Belmont County Dog Warden Lisa Williams says Roady continues to recover but he encountered a setback.
Doctors at New Horizon Animal Hospital in St. Clairsville had to amputate two of Roady's toes Tuesday night because they said the flesh was not responding to treatment.
Also, they said donations for his ongoing treatment have dropped off drastically.
So New Horizon will donate a travel mug to every person who brings in a ten dollar donation for Roady.
His original owners have come forward and signed custody of the little four-year-old beagle over to the Belmont County Animal Shelter, saying they could not afford his vet bill.
They gave the dog warden their last twenty dollars, and told her they must have dragged him behind their pickup truck without realizing it.
A number of people, upon hearing Roady's dramatic story on 7 News, have applied to adopt him.
The dog warden says he has to spend some more time in the animal hospital before he can go home to anyone.
