WVU Basketball Player Suspended

Joe Mazzulla will be out indefinitely.

MORGANTOWN -- West Virginia University announced Friday that basketball player Joe Mazzulla was suspended from the team indefinitely for violating team rules.

“Joe is suspended indefinitely from all basketball related activities,” said Coach Bob Huggins. “We take violations of our team rules very seriously.”

Huggins did not offer any other comment on the situation.

Mazzulla, a junior guard from Johnston, R.I., played in only seven games last season before undergoing shoulder surgery.
