Ducks, horses, piglets....oh my!
Story by Courtney Dunn
MORGANTOWN -- From ducks, to sheep, to piglets , hundreds of kids are flooding West Virginia University's farm to see animals up close.
WVU kicked off "Kiddie Days" Tuesday at its farm on Stewartstown Road in Morgantown.
It gives kids the chance to pet chicks and ponies and learn where their food comes from.
Parents say it is an educational opportunity the kids really enjoy.
"I think it's a great opportunity for the kids to come out and get to see the animals and learn a little bit about what they eat," said Stacey Lambert. "Just the hands on activities, that's really cool for the kids.
Amber Shrewsberry agrees.
"This is our second year coming," she said. "{her daughter} She loved it last year and loved it even more this year. As they get older they enjoy more of the animals - she just loves it - it's a great time."
Kiddie Days at the WVU Farm will continue through Friday. Admission is $2.
