WESTON -- Eighth graders hosted the sixth annual RAZE event, Monday, at Robert L Bland Middle School.
Fifth through seventh graders learned about the effects of smoking and tobacco use.
The students visited nine interactive stations, which focused on the need for healthy lungs, and the consequences of smoking.
The highlight was a breathing demonstration using pig lungs, one healthy and the other the equivalent of a person who smokes a pack a day.
The eighth graders say they hope showing the students the negative effects of smoking, will keep them from smoking.
