CLARKSBURG -- A Harrison County judge has sentenced a Nutter Fort woman, for burning down her home for insurance money.

Kathryn Todd Stire, 29, will serve one to five years in prison.

Investigators say in December 2007, her brother, Benjamin Todd, set Stire's house on fire while she was out of town.

Benjamin Todd, 27, is serving 12 years, for first degree arson, burning insured property, and conspiracy.

There is so much more here than what the general public knows. This case reminds me of the Salem Witchcraft Trials. It's a very sad case where the people who testified against BJ and Kathy did so for money and other more corrupt reasons. For instance Pat Price, a convicted child molester, appeared in court in shackles so he could testify in order to get a reduced sentence. The Covars testified for two reasons: revenge against Kathy and BJ over a long-standing feud and to gain custody of BJ's son. Does anyone realize that the only evidence against Kathy and BJ came from the "He said; she said" testimony of these disreputable witnesses? Kathy and BJ are good people. Neither of them should be imprisoned or thought of as criminals. The only criminal acts that occurred here came from the witnesses.

Bless your heart, Kathy. I know this is devastating for you. Pray for God to give you the strength to overcome this ordeal. Stay strong so you can get back to your babies. You and BJ are in my prayers. Love to you both!

Family? Yea, we love her as family, but what she done was entirely wrong. She hung her brother, who would have done anything for her out to dry. For one, he didn't start the fire, he was in a vehicle when the fire started, someone else started it. Her ex is the one that turned them in when she didn't get more than 6k of the insurance money. What did her brother get for his *trouble? a few packs of cigarettes and a beer or two? Oh, and a couch to sleep on before the fire. The firebug that started the fire turned states evidence so he would get a better deal on his up coming trial. Let's see what else. As Janet said, Kenny should have been a man and stood up instead of being the coward and took his punishment as well. However, he didn't, he let his wife go to jail, and her babies are now at home with out her. Hopefully they will look further into this and snag his ass too. I am not saying she didn't deserve time, because I think she does, but by hell, her husband needs to be right there beside her. It's just wrong that she didn't stand trial and got a 1 -5 year sentence, her husband got nothing, certain others that received some of the insurance money never had to answer for it, and then you have dear ole BJ who was there while the the guy set the fire, never got a dime of the money, and is sitting in jail for the next 13 years all because he didn't open his mouth and rat anyone out. Just goes to show ya what being loyal and trying to protect those you love does. Especially when those you were protecting don't give a damn about you and will let anything they know about you or what you have done out in a flash if it will protect their asses!

This is in responce to Janet Reaser it is my belief that if you was so worried and loved "as you say" family ,Why? would you put her buisness out in the wash like that? There is way more important things going on in this world than family gossip. Keep family at home......But,all the same she is your famliy, I am of hopes you support her in this time of need.

Kathy I love you, Your family!! But I don't believe that at the blame should have been put on BJ from the begening when you and Kenny was Just involved and to blame as well, It was your and kenny's idea and house not BJ's, Yes you may have wanted to back out at the end, But that's hear nor their, But your husband told him to go ahead and do it and he would take care of him, but look where you & your brother are now! And where the HELL is Kenny home with your kids, I just feel he should have been man enough to step up to the plate and admitted what he told BJ to do, and maybe then you would be home with the babie's instead of him!! That's what a good husband & father would have done, Just remember people come & go but FAMILY LOVE IS FOREVER!!!! LOVE YA GIRL
