A couple wanted in connection for a burglary in Frederick County, Maryland, were caught in Lewis County.
Story by Elizabeth Schubert
Forty year-old Joanne Stone and 41 year-old Donald Stone are in the Central Regional Jail in Flatwoods.
Lewis County Sheriff's deputies and Weston State Police arrested the two Friday night on Route 33 near the Super Eight Motel in Weston. Troopers tell 12 News they received a tip from the Maryland State Police and Frederick County Sheriff's Department. The Lewis County Special Response Team was also called to the scene, because the suspects had past criminal records.
" We were informed they could possibly be armed and dangerous," said Weston State Trooper L.C. Carpenter. "They were wanted for felony charges in Maryland, and officers told us they were possibly armed and wouldn't come back to Maryland easily."
When troopers arrived at the motel, they identified the Stone's car, and saw the two suspects leaving. Troopers pulled them over for a traffic stop along Route 33. No word yet on when the two will be extradited back to Maryland.
