TULSA, OK -- Tulsa head basketball coach Doug Wojcik has agreed to a new six-year contract to remain with the Golden Hurricane.

The new deal adds a two-year extension to his previous contract, which now runs through the 2014-15 season.

Wojcik has an 81-53 record in four seasons at Tulsa, and has won at least 20 games each of the past three seasons. The Golden Hurricane was 25-11 last season and finished second in Conference USA to Memphis.

Wojcik is the only coach in Tulsa history to record consecutive 25-win seasons.

Wojcik was an assistant coach under Tom Izzo at Michigan State, before becoming Tulsa's head coach in 2005.

Doug's brother Dave Wojcik, an assistant coach at Tulsa, recently left the program to become an assistant coach under longtime friend and Yorkville, Ohio native Dino Gaudio at Wake Forest.

The Wojcik brothers were standouts at Wheeling Central Catholic High School in the 80's. Dave became the head coach at his alma mater and won back-to-back West Virginia Class A state championships in 2002 and 2003.

Doug graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1987 and served in the Navy until 1992. While at Navy, Wojcik had a very successful playing career as a three-year starter at point guard for the Midshipmen alongside likely future Hall of Famer David Robinson, amassing several team records for assists.

Once Wojcik completed his military service, he returned to Annapolis as an assistant coach. He's also spent time as an assistant coach at Notre Dame and North Carolina.

Here's Wojcik's head coaching resume:

2005-2006 Tulsa 11-17 6-8

2006-2007 Tulsa 20-11 9-7

2007-2008 Tulsa 25-14 8-8 CBI Champions

2008-2009 Tulsa 25-11 14-5 2nd NIT 2nd Round
