WEBSTER COUNTY -- An ATV accident in Webster County killed one person Saturday evening.

Officials say the accident happened on Mill Run Road, near Webster Springs.

The call came in just before 7:00 for a lost juvenile on an ATV.

"Mountaineer", open your heart and express a little compassion. I'm assuming you're not a parent. I don't know this boy. But, I have family that does. My heart broke when I heard the Craigsville Fire Department preparing for his wake and funeral on the scanner. Cowen, my local Fire Department stood in for them. I'm praying for the family. And I say many prayers for our emergency personel everywhere. When the tones drop if you have a scanner, whisper a prayer and if it turns out to be a false alarm say thank you Lord. "Parent" I agree that the laws should be better inforced for ATV's. Most kids are to small for the vehicles they ride. But, I've seen adults showing little kids how to ride wheelies , spin donuts and other dangerous things. This boy could have been safer on his ATV than most adults. Only him and God know what happened for sure. My prayers are with his family and friends. God Bless you All.

how many kids are going to have to die this summer on ATV's before parents keep them off of them. i know some parents think that their children can handle them but there are cases where quick thinking and skill is needed and lets face it some kids are not old enough to make quick judgements in emergency situations so please parents we need to make the judgement to keep them off of them till they are 16 like the sticker on most ATV's say on them when you buy them. lets keep our kids safe.

my prayers go out to the family.
