WESTON -- Lewis County schools may erect a memorial for a man killed in a hunting accident.
Director of Services Steve Casto says community members have asked to put up a plaque in memory of Shawn Stewart.
Stewart was killed while turkey hunting near Stonewall Jackson Lake.
The plaque would go somewhere along the Safe Routes to School project at Robert L. Bland Middle School.
Casto says Stewart designed the project's sidewalk and bicycle pavilion.
The board of education will hear the request at its meeting Monday.
