Rescue crews found his body on Sunday.

STRANGE CREEK --  After a day long search, rescue crews recovered the body of a 17-year-old Braxton County male near the Kanawha Falls Public Fishing area, Sunday evening.

Fayette County sheriff's deputies identified the teen as Cyrus Rose of Strange Creek.

Samuel Rose, 40 and Johnathan Rose, 17 both of Strange Creek and Joshua Rowe, 25 of Cleveland were also on the boat on the Kanawha River near Gauley Bridge, when it capsized.

They were able to swim to safety, deputies said.

Emergency dispatchers tell WVNS-TV that Rose's body was recovered just after 6:00 p.m. Sunday, not far from where the boat capsized.

Deputies say the group was familiar with the area and that they were not wearing life jackets.

Four volunteer fire departments and an ambulance service responded to the scene.
