CHEAT LAKE -- The Cheat Lake Planning District and Advisory Committee held a public meeting Tuesday evening at Avery United Methodist Church.

About 100 concerned residents attended to see and discuss the overview of the draft zoning ordinance.

The Planning Commission says that the Planning District would protect the land and home owners from commercial development.

Many residents expressed concern about the control, feeling they would not be able to use their property for whatever they want.

The Cheat Neck Planning District Advisory Committee will hold its public meeting Wednesday evening at 7:00 at Cheat Lake Elementary School.

The proposed zoning ordinances will be voted on during a special election on October 3.
