MORGANTOWN -- Ten Mountaineer ChalleNGe Academy students were in Morgantown Saturday doing what they call "service for the community".
The Mountaineer ChalleNGe Academy is a 22 week quasi-military program for at-risk-teens from across the state.
Its located at Camp Dawson.
The teens were at the Presbyterian Child Development Center Saturday, helping clean up and do maintenance.
Students wiped down walls, tables and chairs, swept, vacuumed inside and did clean up outside.
They say they've already had many different rewarding experiences while giving back.
"I've been to the animal shelter and nursing home and I went to Cooper's Rock and helped put in some walkway bridges up there," says 16-year-old Zakhar Zimin.
And they say they've learned valuable lessons.
"Not to take my parents for granted. I took my whole family for granted and I respect them and look up to them more," says 17-year-old Quinton Stoneking.
Saturday's volunteers were from Monongalia, Preston and Harrison Counties.
