James Clements said he wants to improve WVU's faculty-to-student ratio.
MORGANTOWN -- West Virginia University's new president, James Clements, delivered his first State of the University address Monday afternoon.
During the speech, Clements identified seven areas he wants to emphasize: academic and faculty quality, research, undergraduate experience and education, graduate education, collaboration and impact on the state, health care, and multiculturalism and globalization.
One thing he wants to improve is the university's faculty-to-student ratio.
Clements outlined a plan to hire 100 additional faculty members over the next few years.
He also addressed the "Share the Vision" survey he has been getting results from, since he took office in June.
