Former Doddridge County Sheriff Indicted on Eight Sex Charges

William Holden abused a teenage boy, authorities said.

WEST UNION -- The Doddridge County grand jury indicted former county sheriff William Holden Monday.

Holden was indicted on four counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian, one count of first-degree sexual abuse and three counts of displaying obscene matter with intent to seduce a minor.

The victim was a 13-year-old boy and the alleged abuse happened approximately 30 times between January 2005 and March 2009, authorities said.

You don't suppose, do you, that this accusation against the defendant has anything to do with a new county prosecutor? I mean, it's worth thinking about. This man has been sheriff for some time I assume. Years maybe. In Doddridge county. Just now a finger is being pointed at him. Doesn't make sense to me.

A man in another state just got 80 life sentences for this same thing. Lets at the very least hold up to their conviction.

It can't be so! Law Enforcement would never do anything like this! They are the great defenders of our glorious nation comrades! The extremely difficult task of keeping Doddridge County safe must have forced him to do this heinous act!

In our society, the penalties are stiffer if you abuse an animal!!! Our poor children!!

He'll get the same treatment the FBI cops got for spying on the young girls changing clothes at the mall. NOTHING swept quietly awayyyyyyyy

I really believe that people like this who violate the trust that the public has placed in them (law enforcement, teachers, etc.) should face stiffer penalties.
