MORGANTOWN -- The Friends of West Virginia University Hospitals held a Festival of Trees Wednesday night to benefit the hospitals.
Area designers and WVU Interior Design students decorated more than 20 trees that were displayed at the Touchdown Terrace at Milan Puskar Stadium.
"We were at a board meeting and we thought what a great idea we could do something different and fun and also sell items from the gift shop and make some money for the hospital," said Adrienne Davis with Friends of WVUH.
"This year, because of the H1N1, the hospital is pretty much shut down and we cannot have lobby sales, so this is good we could have this at this venue," said Board President Beverly Martin.
Organizers sold the trees, decorations and all, and say it's a unique fundraiser that gets people in the holiday spirit.
