FAIRMONT -- Fairmont Police have arrested a second man involved in a robbery at an apartment on Locust Avenue Tuesday.

Officers located Franklin McVay, 23, Wednesday night at another residence on Locust Avenue and charged him with robbery.

Another man, Atavio Lee, 19, was arraigned in Marion County Magistrate Court Wednesday morning. McVay, Lee and several other men robbed a man in an apartment on Locust Avenue, police said.

McVay struck the victim in the head with a piece of wood and stole his cell phone and $200, according to police.

The police say Lee kept the victim from leaving the apartment.

The victim was treated and released from the hospital, said police.

Both men are in the North Central Regional Jail.

I wonder if these two guys are the ones that have been robbing all the other houses around here. It's getting very scary here. I'm afraid to walk outside at night. On halloween my downstairs neighbors apparently were robbed.....a couple weeks before, my neighbor across the street....then 2 other robberies the next street up...and the shootings.. Then the other issue is parking. I work really late and get home really early am....parking is terrible on my street, mostly because people need some parking lessons.....I had to park in front of an elderly ladies house the other day (was not blocking anything) and she came out and started cussing me off...telling me next time I park there she was calling the cops....I mean come on....I told her I only parked there because there was no where else safe to park....and I was only there for a few hours. Oh well what is this world coming to.

I think we "foot the bill" as taxpayers in general so we can pay people to keep them off the streets. That's some of the purpose of taxes. Like insurance. So we don't foot the bill when they break into our homes and steal our stuff and pay large deductibles. Some things cannot be replaced. Like lives and memorabilia.

Looks like two more petty criminals off the streets. Too bad we tax payers have to foot the bill.
