LUMBERPORT -- Three members of West Virginia University's EcoCAR team were in Lumberport, Thursday afternoon.

They spoke to the seventh and eighth grade students at Lumberport Middle School about the project, and the importance of protecting the environment.

General Motors sponsors the project in which 17 teams compete to create a more eco-friendly car.

WVU Senior Cate Mihelic was one of the presenters.

She used to attend Lumberport Middle School.

"We want the students to know what's happening close to them and the competition is still going to be going on," said Mihelic.
