The station could be silent by the end of the year.
GRAFTON -- Unless a buyer steps up soon a Grafton radio station that's been on the air since August 1957 will go silent.
The owner of WVUS 1190 AM says he cannot sell enough ads to cover the costs of music rights, electricity, phone lines, and other things associated with running a radio station.
Steven Tocco is asking $59,900 for the station, which is much lower than the appraisal, he said.
Six groups have inquired about buying the station, but have made no serious offers, according to Tocco.
If he does not sell it, the station will go silent at midnight on Dec. 31.
