Governor Manchin and staff will challenge residents of the Kenneth "Honey" Rubenstein Juvenile Center in Tucker County to a basketball game Friday, Nov. 20.
CHARLESTON -- Governor Joe Manchin has announced that he and his staff will challenge residents of the Kenneth "Honey" Rubenstein Juvenile Center to a basketball game, later this month.
The game will be played at the center in Davis, on Friday, Nov. 20.
Manchin promised to play in the game during the center's grand opening in September.
"I'm sure these kids have experienced enough broken promises, and I wanted to be sure I followed through with this," Manchin said.
The event will be open to the public.
Appetizers will be served at 5 p.m. and people will have the chance to mingle with the governor.
The game will start at 6 p.m.
The cost of admission will be a toy that will be donated to the State Troopers for West Virginia Needy campaign.
Cash donations that will benefit the Parsons Community Action Center will also be accepted.
Seating is limited. Reservations must be made by Monday, Nov. 16. Reservations can be made by calling Terra Hamrick at (304) 259-5241.
