The roundtable will be aimed at sharing ideas for a better community.
WHEELING -- City leaders from all over the State of West Virginia will be in Wheeling Friday to meet with Mayor Andy McKenzie.
“The Mayors’ Roundtable” is scheduled to take place at Oglebay Resort & Conference Center. Leaders from different parts of the state will come to Wheeling to talk about what is working in their respective communities in order to exchange best practices and ideas for a better community.
They will also discuss challenges that effect everyone, such as population decline, aged infrastructure and retaining educated talent.
“Wheeling has a lot of development, culture, entertainment and positive momentum," McKenzie said. "We want the rest of the State to experience that first-hand. This is also a tremendous opportunity for us to engage with other West Virginia cities about their assets and challenges. It is also a good idea to maintain relationships with leaders from other areas.”
Cities that are expected to be represented at the meeting are Morgantown, St. Albans, Fairmont, Weirton, Charleston, Parkersburg, Huntington, Vienna, and Wheeling. Class I and Class II cities were invited. Class I cities are those with a population of 50,000 or more, and Class II cities have populations of 10,000-50,000.
