MORGANTOWN -- Morgantown Police charged a U. S. Naval Academy student with falsely reporting an emergency incident.
Sanders turned himself in Nov. 12, according to a news release from the police department.
He initially reported that he had been kidnapped as part of an extortion plot.
State Police troopers found Sanders unharmed in Preston County.
Sanders was arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court and released on bond, the news release states.
