MORGANTOWN -- After the last try for the basket, after the band packs up, and after the West Virginia University's women's basketball team leaves the court, it's time for a little football.

"It's the first football watch party in the coliseum, the second year that we've had the video board in the coliseum, and the first time we've had a basketball event on the same night as a football game where it works out," explained WVU's Director of Sports Marketing Matt Wells.

Wells says they had to slightly adjust the time of the women's game to get the watch party to work out just right.

"After that, it's simply just getting the feed of the game up on the board and then go from there," he said.

Friday night's game against Towson was the seventh most highly attended women's basketball game in history, with more than 3500 fans. Students say they love the back-to-back Mountaineer games.

"They should do this more often for bigger away games," said junior Ashlee Abbott.

Fans said seeing WVU Football in the coliseum was a little strange, but nothing gets better than seeing a bonus game, after a victory, on Morgantown's biggest televisions.

"I mean, my TV is so small in my dorm," laughed Kevin Cueva, a sophomore. "I'd rather watch on a big screen with a bunch of West Virginia Fans than at home by my lonesome."

"I think it's really cool to see it on the jumbo screen," shared Logan Miller, who came from Grafton with his father Eric. "It's cool." Officials say the first Coliseum watch party was a success, with plenty of fans to cheer on the blue and gold.
