The Mountaineers are now out of the running for a Big East Championship.

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The West Virginia University Mountaineers lost to the No. 5 Cincinnati Bearcats. The Mountaineers lead the series at 14 - 2 coming into Friday night's game, but WVU would once again fall to the Bearcats.

It was a tight game at halftime knotted at 14 each after a Jarret Brown and Ryan Clarke touchdowns; however Tony Pike, Zach Collaros and the Cincinnati offense was too strong for the Mountaineers pulling away in the second half.

The final score was 24-21. WVU will now host the Pittsburgh Panthers on Nov. 27.

I like the administrative side of Stew..I love the God fearing side of Stew..but the play calling is pathetic & predictable. There is no life to this team. TC wanted us to get excited about a "new cheer". Can you believe that? The media people buttoned to WVU won't even entertain constructive critisism... and that is irritating...I certainly don't want Rod back... but WVU is not a second tier institution and our football sucess shouldn't be any less. Our ticket prices and concession prices are up there with the big boys... we're spending the same $$$$ as the big boys.....our results ought to be the same. By comparison - if Pitt and USF took us down every once in awhile...well, that would be fair. But there isn't any other team in Big East that we should EVER be concerned with. That should be the expectation - EVERY year!! If this current AD and Coaching staff cannot do that... bring me the Old Ball Coach... he's wasted enough of his time in SC already.

First of all Dumb And Dumber (Stewart and Mullins) are both grade school coaches at best. Stewart even stated he didn't know what he was going to do against Cinn on Nov 11 2009 that tells ya something there.Brown is 5 sec to slow in decission making and offense play calling was a joke.Clark had 4 carriers up the middle for 69 yrds and then we just pulled the plug on him and start running the outside which was not there all night. If i can sit and watch the offense line up and know what is going to happen don't you think other teams can as well. Dumb and Dumber no game plan no adjustments and your too predictable. Retire and take your blue vest with ya.

We knew they were small and weak in the middle of the defense so why not exploit it like Ucon did instead of trying to get around the outside where their strength was . Ryan Clark did well up the middle on the few times he got the ball but the coaches didnt seem to see that WHY??? I agree the reversed call on the cincy touchdown may have been wrong but it should have not have been an issue. GRADE DEFENSE " C " OFFENSE "D- " . I think the talent is there but not being used to the best of their abilities . Coaches need to take off the blinders , PLAY CALLING "F"

Stew is proving to all why he is not a D-1 head coach. He has no clue what is happening on the field. The 2 kick-off penalties, the looks of bewilderment, his comments.... Mike Garrison and Ed Pastilong ran a good coach out of town! It would seem someone lied to us and it wasn't Coach Rod!!!! It is time for the new administration to clean house. A.D. gone. Head Coach gone. Off. Coordinator. gone. Terry Bowden, I don't know. I do know we need someone who will put some life back in the team.
