FAIRMONT -- A Marion County man has been arrested driving the wrong way on Interstate 79, from Morgantown to Fairmont, while drunk, sheriff's deputies said.
Edward Bosco, 55 of Fairmont, is charged with fleeing while DUI, a felony.
Saturday, Bosco was driving a 2002 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck south in the northbound lane, at 85 mph, according to the criminal complaint.
Deputies turned on their red and blue lights, sirens and spotlights to get his attention, they said.
Bosco looked at them several times, but continued to drive, according to deputies.
After two to three miles, deputies were able to stop him.
Once stopped, Bosco refused to open the door and reached for a handgun from the center console, deputies said.
The deputies were then able to open the door and get Bosco out of the truck.
Bosco then told the deputies that he thought he was at Winston's Bar and Grille and the deputies were robbing him, according to the criminal complaint.
He then failed all field sobriety tests, had slurred speech and alcohol on his breath, deputies said.
A breath test indicated that he had a .215 blood alcohol level.
Bosco was released on bond from the North Central Regional Jail.
