ANAHEIM, Calif. -- West Virginia University looked like one of the top ten teams in the country in an opening round 85-62 win at the 76 Classic.

Devin Ebanks once again watched from the bench and did not play.

Four Mountaineers finished in double figures. Casey Mitchell led the way with 18 points. He was 4 of 7 from three point range.

Kevin Jones got the start in Ebanks' absence and nearly turned in a double-double. Jones scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Da'Sean Butler added 13 points while Jonnie West chipped in 11.

West Virginia shot 52 percent from the field and out-rebounded Long Beach State 29-17.

WVU held a 40-24 lead at the half and outscored Long Beach State by seven in the second half to win it by 23 points.

True freshman Danny Jennings scored eight points off the bench. He and Wellington Smith fouled out in the contest.

WVU advances to the second round of the 76 Classic and will meet Texas A&M Friday at 2:30 p.m.

Texas A&M upset No. 19 Clemson 69-60 in the first round.
