MORGANTOWN -- West Virginia University Students are helping local children this holiday season and they need your help.
The Student Government Association is collecting toys and money to help build the University's annual Toy Mountain to be distributed by the Salvation Army and Christian Help.
Monetary donations will help with the Dec. 12 "Students Helping Other People" or "SHOPping" program, where students will take less fortunate children to K-Mart and let them spend $75 each, on gifts.
"This year specifically because of the economy we've received a lot more children's names this year, so it's even more important this year than other years to give to these kids this Christmas," said graduate student Beth Belch.
Donations will be accepted through the Dec. 11.
Toys can be dropped off to the Student Organization Services Office in the Mountainlair.
Checks can be mailed to the same office: P.O. Box 6444 Morgantown, WV 26506.
