MORGANTOWN -- WVU Journalism student, Chip Fontanazza had the chance to report for ESPN's broadcast of the West Virginia, Louisville game on Saturday.
A journalism professor selected Fontanzazza to work with ESPN to produce a taped segment for the game and do a live-sideline report.
The senior is from York, Pa. and says this was a good way for his friends and family back home to see him on TV.
"it's unusual because when you do a lot of broadcast around this area, you know that are certain people around the area that will watch you and see your stuff, " Fontanazza said. "But when you have everyone back home calling you and texting you saying: "I saw you on TV, that's awesome, that's pretty neat."
Fontanazza’s appearance on ESPN is part of the network’s Campus Connection Week. Students from more than 40 schools, representing 15 conferences and 21 states.
The School of Journalism has had an official partnership with ESPN since the fall of 2008.
