JANE LEW -- Spring has sprung and the summer wedding season is just around the corner.
One Lewis County business is getting the word out about what they can do for brides in need of a venue.
Jane Lew might not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of a wedding reception, but the Plantation Inn and Suites, and its new Prominance Banquet Center are trying to change that by reinventing the 25 year old business, and bring something new to the area.
"When it comes to upgrades we did everything ... lists everything, practically everything was redone," said owner Jay Dayel.
Brides from all over the area came to check out the new room as well as more than 15 wedding vendors.
And they say they the hall is just what the area needed.
"It really has improved since the owners before, and it's really pretty in here today," said bride Erin Boner.
The area for the banquet center used to be a restaurant but now the room seats 260 people and has a stage and dance floor, perfect for a wedding reception.
But the owner says the room can be used for a lot more.
"There are a lot of oil and gas companies in the area, but there's no place you can sit 250 to 300 people. So we thought it was an idea we could go with," said Dayel.
And re-vamping the banquet hall wasn't the end of the renovations.
"Our next renovation is going to be outside where we're going to be outside, where we're going to try to do an English garden also."
The Prominance Banquet Hall is located just off of Interstate 79, at exit 105 in the Plantation Inn and Suites.
