CLARKSBURG -- Normally, Harrison County Animal Control wouldn't go this far out of its way to find a pet's owner. But this isn't a normal dog.
Animal Control Officer Suzette Modispaugh caught this video of a small, svelte, brown dog this week at the shelter.
Rescuers brought in the female dog from the Clarksburg area.
It was treated for injuries to its legs. Instead of hobbling on three, the dog hoists its rear in the air and is able to get along handily on its front paws.
Modispaugh said they only keep the dog for the owners for a finite amount of time. On July 30 or 31, it will begin looking for a home for the spunky pet.
If this is your dog, you can call Harrison County Animal Control at 304-592-1876.
