The lone survivor of the Sago Mine disaster, Randal McCloy, is starting to speak, says a family spokesman.

The lone survivor of the Sago mine disaster is starting to speak. A family spokeswoman says McCloy is undergoing daily speech and physical therapy and is becoming more alert and regaining control over parts of his body.

He's still at HealthSouth in Morgantown. Doctors may remove McCloy's feeding tube in a few weeks. They're are still gauging the extent, if any, of the brain damage McCloy may have suffered from the long-term oxygen deprivation.
