Geoff Coyle joined wvillustrated.com upon its inception in August of 2009.
Before beginning his career in sports journalism, Geoff completed a Broadcast News degree from West Virginia University. During his time at WVU, he served as a student manager for the Mountaineers football team from the 2005-2008 seasons.
Geoff was on the sidelines for two BCS bowl games and four total bowl wins with the Mountaineers. Serving the wide receivers' coach, he learned about the everyday operation of a football program and important skills in teamwork.
In broadcast, Geoff worked with The Golf Channel at the Pete Dye Open in Bridgeport, as a cameraman for the Mountaineer Sports Network and as an anchor and reporter for WVU News. He placed second in ABC's roving reporter category for campus reports nationwide.
Outside of sports, Geoff's main interests include entertainment and travel. He comes to West Virginia from his hometown of Ashton, Maryland.
Geoff offers his thoughts on a number of WVU sports topics from his viewpoint filming practices and games from the field as well as a variety of material behind the scenes in his blog, Outside the [Press] Box.
