Matt Hauswirth joined WBOY in February of 2011 as a sports reporter. A 2011 graduate of the Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism at West Virginia University, Matt emerged as the lead Sports Anchor for the award-winning WVU News in the spring of 2011.
Matt has held a variety of internships in both broadcast and print, including with WSYR Sports Radio and WSTM-TV in Syracuse, NY while attending Onondaga Community College from 2006-08. More recently, Matt interned at WBOY during the summer of 2010, then interned as a WVU sports writer for WVIllustrated.com. Matt's passion for sports began at an early age as a multi-sport athlete in high school. Originally from Syracuse, Matt grew up as an avid sports fan in the Central New York area.
When Matt's not reporting, he enjoys playing various sports, but most notably basketball, lacrosse and golf. Additionally, Matt is a devoted West Virginia Mountaineers fan, as well as a passionate fan of all New York sports teams.
