As the Wesleyan football team continues to soar, many are beginning to forget the debacle that took place within the program nearly six months prior. Head coach Jonas Jackson remembers it quite vividly.

"I got a call from Coach Creehan that some things were going on and that he could be leaving," head coach Jonas Jackson said. "I got a call within the next few hours with him saying, 'Hey, I'm moving on. And I'm going to tell the administration that I think you deserve to have the job.'"

Coach Jackson admits he was a bit apprehensive and scared at first, but quickly became adjusted to his new role. And for his players, it didn't take them too long to buy in.

"I"I've had a lot of coaches at Wesleyan, Coach Strubel, Coach Creehan and now Coach Jackson," senior quarterback Adam Neugebauer said. "All three are very great coaches. And Coach Jackson just brings that energy. He's just a different type of coach I've never had, which I'm glad he's our coach."

"Like Coach Jackson said, we just got to keep getting better week after week," Defensive End Jonas Celian said. "Week-in and week-out we just got to keep working hard. We're trying to go all the way to the championship, so as the week goes we've got to pick it up even more."

The Bobcats are now 8-0 and have shot up to 14th in the Division-II College Football rankings, which are both school records. But, Coach Jackson says the only thing that matters is making sure his players are successful once football is over.

"I just hope once football is over that my players can be successful out in the real world. I hope they can be special just as they were on the football field and in the classroom," Coach Jackson said.
