BUCKHANNON -

The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats were looking to continue down their unbeaten path on Saturday afternoon when they welcomed in the West Virginia State Yellow Jackets to Ross Field.

Before the game, Wesleyan seniors such as Jon Meadows and Adam Neugebauer, to name a few, were honored for their efforts throughout their careers at Wesleyan. But the seniors had something in store for the Yellow Jackets in their last regular season home game.

Freshman tailback Keith Dickens got things started on the Bobcats first offensive drive of the game, as Dickens ran it in from two yards out. Wesleyan led 7-0 early in the contest.

Dickens continued to impress in the first quarter, as Neugebauer led another long drive down the field, which was then capped off by a Dickens three yard touchdown run. The Bobcats jumped out to an early 14-0 advantage.

As time was ticking down in the first quarter, Wesleyan maintained its offensive explosiveness. Neugebauer connected with a wide open Dickens on a screen pass over the middle, which went for another touchdown. That was Dickens' third straight touchdown in the first quarter and Wesleyan led by the convincing margin of 21-0.

Neugebauer would later add a passing touchdown down the field to Jon Meadows, which resulted in a couple of records being broken in the process. Neugebauer broke the single season passing yards record and Meadows went on to become the sixth player in Bobcats history to record 1,000 receiving yards.

WVWC went on to trounce State 42-6.

Wesleyan improves to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play with the victory. The Bobcats will finish the regular season with two road games. Wesleyan will travel to Charleston next Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
