Wesleyan Falls in AFCA Poll

Posted: Updated:

The West Virginia Wesleyan football team suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday at the hands of Charleston. The Bobcats fell 28-17. WVWC also fell in the latest American Football Coaches Association poll.

The AFCA Division II Coaches' Poll was released Monday with Wesleyan landing at No. 19. That's eight spots lower than last week's ranking.

WVWC is now 9-1 on the season. The loss to UC created a tie for first place in the WVIAC football standings between Wesleyan and Concord. Ironically, the final game of the regular season for both teams is a Bobcat/Mountain Lion match up. Saturday's game will decide the 2011 WVIAC champion.
