WVIAC Spotlight: Glenville State's Jordan Griffin

GLENVILLE -

The name Jordan Griffin may ring a bell to several people around the Clarksburg area. Griffin was an all-conference standout for three straight years as an RCB Eagle. And now in his senior season at Glenville State, Griffin leads the Pioneers in receiving yards. But he says it didn't come easy.

"I didn't see much of the field during my first two years and then going against the starters and the one's in practice and not being able to run some of the routes. Throughout the years you've got to adjust and learn little things to do to get separation and get open," Glenville State wide receiver Jordan Griffin said.

And Griffin has been able to do just that, leading the Pioneers with 69 catches for 713 yards and eight touchdowns. He says his pride carried him to a breakout senior season.

"When I started as a junior, you're looked upon to make plays and along with everyone else on the field," Griffin said. "I just take pride in routes and catching the ball and do everything I can to help the team win, regardless if I'm the leading receiver or not."

Heading into the final game of his career this Saturday at Seton Hill, Griffin says he wants people to remember him as a great player on the field. But if football doesn't work out, he intends to put his Marketing degree to good use.

"If I could play football somewhere else after this I'm going to try to, as long as I can," Griffin said. "if not, then I'd like to move to a city like New York and get out of here for a while and get a job like a normal person."
