FAIRMONT -

The city of Fairmont is getting ready for one of its biggest festivals of the year: the Feast of the Seven Fishes.

Organizers are still raising money for the event.

The Marion County Commission kicked in $5,000 to help out with expenses on Wednesday.

The Feast attracts thousands of people to downtown Fairmont's "Italian Street Fair.".

"If you think about it, a lot goes on in the summer months but we really don't have too many attractions in the winter months and this is one of the few that brings tourists in from all around the state and really all along the East Coast," said Vera Sansalone, Executive Director of Main Street Fairmont.

The Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival will be Saturday, Dec. 10 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
