11/21/11 Thanksgiving Week

Posted: Updated:

Tuesday is looking quite mild over the region, as winds from the southeast should pump afternoon highs well into the 60s.  This warm air will be pushed out of the way as low pressure and a cold front moves in on Tuesday and Wednesday.  The low on Tuesday could actually produce a few thunderstorms.  The top right graphic shows the SPC severe outlook for Tuesday, keeping a slight risk of severe to the west, but a gusty storm in our area is not out of the question. The main threat with these storms would be gusty winds and heavy rain and some cloud to ground lightning.

Below that, you can see the EURO model, showing that front blasting through on Wednesday, with more wet weather.  The showers will wrap up by Wednesday evening, with a few snow showers over the higher elevations.

Finally, we are sticking with the EURO model, which is predicting our next cold front by Sunday with more showers and storms.  This front should push in some colder air, which could produce a few snow showers late Monday and Tuesday....stay tuned for updates!
