As of last week, the Preston Knights will be the newest member of the Big 10 Conference.
The addition of the Knights gives the league 13 teams, with four of those being Class 'AAA' schools and the other 9 being Class 'AA'.
Preston's student enrollment of 1,370 students is the largest in the Big 10, with North Marion not too far behind.
The Knights have been competing as an independent ever since the NCAC fizzled out following the departures of schools in both the Morgantown and Fairmont areas.
Big 10 Conference principals don't anticipate the Knights to be competing in conference action until next fall.
