"We can be flashy, but we basically just come and get the job done," Alderson-Broaddus senior Point Guard Nate Barnes said. "We have a toughness about each other. We're not going to let anybody push us over. We aren't scared of anybody. We feel like we have a chance against anybody. If it was LeBron James down here, we feel like we could play with him too."

"It's a lot tougher. We've got too much pride. Every day we play like it's our pride is on the line. We don't care who we're playing against. We're still going to go out there and play. We want to win; we don't like losing," junior Forward Kirkland Bohanon said.

When you're from Cleveland, basketball isn't just a sport. It's a way of life. The Battlers feature three Cleveland products in the starting lineup beginning with senior point guard Nate Barnes, the lengthy and athletic Kirkland Bohanon, and the vastly-improved Roy Brown.

"I didn't really help recruit because [Coach] Zimmerman likes guys from Cleveland," junior Forward Roy Brown said. "But when he asked me for my input on them, I told him that I've seen both of those guys play. So I knew the ability that they had. So I had a little input but not too much."

A-B's triple-headed monster of Barnes, Bohanon and Brown has accounted for nearly 50 points per contest. That's just about two-third's of A-B's scoring. And you better believe the Battlers will ride the trio from Cleveland until the very end.

"Kirkland jumps better than almost anybody I know. I can put it anywhere and he just dunks it. So that brings a whole bunch of excitement to the game and our team. Just to see one of them get a dunk or a hustle play, it helps the camaraderie of our team," Barnes said.

The three talented Ohio natives truly believe they can take Alderson-Broaddus to the next level.

"I really think we can win the conference, I really think that," Bohanon said. "We can rebound, we can pass, we can score the ball. We can do more than one thing as a team. It's not just one person, not individuals, but everybody can do it."
