BRIDGEPORT -

When living in a town, one thing that's always important is knowing where a great soup and sandwich can be found.

On this weeks restaurant road trip we're checking out Hank's Deli.

"It's a nice place, and it's run by a local guy that I know from Grafton, and it's home," said a weekly customer Linda Stalnaker.

Nestled right on route 50 is Hank's Deli, and there you'll find just what you need.

Hank's started off as just one Deli inside the Middletown Mall in Fairmont six years ago.

Because of great food, great service, and a great atmosphere, Hank's has expanded, adding a small deli inside the Fairmont Healthplex as well as another shop in Bridgeport.

"What amazes me, is when people walk into our restaurants people think we are a chain," said co-owner Matthew Sturm. "We actually are now that we have more than one location. When we first opened, they wanted to know where Hank's Deli originated, and it was great to let them know that in the state of West Virginia starting in Fairmont."

In it's short time, Hank's has become a local favorite for all the right reasons.

"The food is great, the prices are very reasonable, and the service is quick," Stalnaker said.

Others echoed similar opinions.

"First off it's a local business it's not chain run," said customer J.C. Monroe.  "They serve really good food. They've got a wide selection on their menu and their prices are pretty good."

With such a wide selection of great foods, it was hard to find people that agree on what was best.

"Well our hot dogs are right up there, along with our pepperoni rolls," Sturm said. "But I would say our Ruben sandwich, our blue-ridge is quite popular and our muffaletta."

But what seems to stand out as the crowds favorite is Hank's tremendous Chili.

"The homemade Chile, especially this time of year, it's great," Stalnaker said.  "Its just filling and warm."

"Yeah the chili's awesome, the sandwiches are great," said another regular Mikel Ousley.  "The Turkey club is the best club sandwich in town."
