West Virginia Wesleyan finished the 2011 season with a historic 9-2 record. The Bobcats were left out of the NCAA Division II football playoffs, but several players continue to be recognized for their efforts on the gridiron.

Senior quarterback Adam Neugebauer was named the Daktronics Super Region One Offensive Player of the Year.

Joining Neugebauer on the first team is junior Jonas Celian. The defensive end recorded 67 tackles including 21 for a loss. The Florida native grabbed 12 sacks, four fumble recoveries and one interception.

Wide receiver Jon Meadows earner second team honors. The senior led all of D-II football in receptions per game. The Ohio native averaged nine catches for more than 12 yards, also averaging more than 115 total yards per contest.

Neugebauer and Meadows will also play in the Aztec Bowl on Dec. 3.

Fairmont State's Matt Wilmer was named the Second Team Offense. The junior return specialist was a First Team All-WVIAC pick and earned Special Teams Player of the Week twice. He finished the 2011 season as the top punt return man in D-II football averaging 23 yards a return. Wilmer totaled 530 return yards on the season. He boasts the longest punt return in the NCAA for the 2011 season. That is from a 93-yard return in the Falcons' game against Clarion.

Concord offensive lineman Brandon Link also earned First Team Offense regional honors. Players included on the Second Team Offense include Shepherd's Steve Jackson and Eric Dobratz and Charleston's George Davilla and Jordan Roberts.

Joe Greenway of Concord and Elijah Davis from Shepherd were named to the First Team Defense. The Rams' Howard Jones and the Lions Aaron Martinez were Second Team selections.
