"I've always loved animals," said Brooke. "Because no matter how alone you are, they're always there for you."

Sixteen-year-old Brooke is a young animal expert.

"They're really flexible because they don't have a spine."

Se gets most of her animal knowledge from watching Animal Planet and studying.

"Well, I read a lot of books," she said. "I like reading."

You guessed it…when she grows up, she wants to do anything that deals with animals.

"I want to work with animals. I also want to work with horses. I think it's just so sad sitting there watching them stay there with no one to love, or no one to love them."

And like these animals, Brooke is also in need of someone to love her.

"If you could have one wish come true, what would it be?" I asked her. "To get adopted," she said. "It's been a wish for a long time."

Brooke enjoys swimming, reading and writing…and has a knack for domestic duties. "I like cleaning and helping around the house."

"She's fun to be around," said her therapist Jess Torick. "She's very thoughtful when it comes to others, she likes to help others, she's very caring towards others. Brooke does not like loud noises, not a lot of busy, so I think a family that's a little quieter, calmer….definitely one that's calmer and will give her some attention."

Attention, guidance and love…the things she's looking for… are the things she's giving to her animals.

"What would it mean to find a family?" I asked her. "It would mean a lot, actually. I've been wanting to be with a family for a long time. And it would make my day…my world."
