We're trying out Bake Pops on this week's Test It Tuesday.
Bake Pops is supposed to be an easy way to make cake pops on a stick.
The directions said you can use any kind of cake mix to make the cake pops. I tried a French Vanilla cake mix and a Devil's Food cake mix.
After you prepare the cake mix, the batter is ready to be poured into the pan.
Spray the pan with baking spray before you pour the batter.
I found that spooning the batter into the pan was the easiest way to fill the holes.
After the pan is filled, place the top pan on top of the bottom pan and secure with the clips.
Then, place the pan into an oven set at 350 degrees and let bake for 25-30 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let the pan cool.
The directions said you can place the pops into the refrigerator or freezer to cool off faster.
Once the pops are cool, you can decorate them.
I decided to decorate mine with melted chocolate and white chocolate chips. I also added sprinkles.
The kit comes with 18 sticks.
Grab a stick and dip the pop into the melted chocolate. Then, place the stick inside of the pop.
Place the pop into the freezer to let the chocolate freeze; this is supposed to help hold the pop in place while you decorate.
My pops had a hard time staying on the stick so I tried a different technique.
I tolled the pops around in the chocolate, added some springs, and then popped the stick into the cake pop.
I sort of worked the process backwards, but I liked this technique better.
After I was done decorating my pops, I placed them into the refrigerator to let them cool.
One thing I really like about this product is that you can use whatever mix you would like to use. Whether you like chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, or carrot cake, the possibilities are endless.
But, there are some negatives to this product.
It didn't come with any sort of stand for you to place the cake pop in after you decorate it. I think a piece of Styrofoam or cardboard box with holes would work best.
I improvised and used a glass.
Overall, I was really impressed with this product. For only $20, it was simple and easy to use.
It was a little bit messy, but I think you could perfect the process with some trial and error.
My favorite part of the test was seeing how the cake pops tasted.
They were delicious! I ate a total of seven cake pops.
